"He just seems to want to be perceived as a nice guy—a thoughtful person who cares about the country.

I don't know that he's a 'nice guy', because some of the people who've worked fairly close with him find him remote and cold. But I do believe that he has a firm sense of the country and an idea of how it should be governed."

Michael spoke with writer Stephen Maher, author of The Prince: The Turbulent Reign of Justin Trudeau. Informed by interviews with hundreds of people close to the events covered, as well as Maher's own conversations with Trudeau himself, it’s a portrait of a complex person leading through complex times.

The Prince: The Turbulent Reign of Justin Trudeau by Stephen Maher

The first comprehensive biography of Justin Trudeau as prime minister—an honest, compelling story of his government’s triumphs and failures, based on interviews with over 200 insiders and Trudeau himself.

The Prince takes readers behind the curtain as the government goes from triumph to embarrassment and back again, revealing the people, the conflicts, and the struggles both in the government and on the opposition benches. Above all, it traces why this ambitious government led by a global media darling is now so unpopular it is in danger of imminent collapse.
