Slow Dance by Rainbow Rowell

“I really loved Rainbow Rowell's new book Slow Dance. I think the reason I keep coming back to Rainbow even though I generally can't get into capital-R Romance novels generally is I can feel on every page that she's not 100% committed to arriving at happily-ever-after. (Make of that what you will. I will not spoil this book for you). Did I want Shiloh and Carey to end up together? Maybe? But I did want them to get past their history and actually talk to one another. And they do talk. And more. It's complicated. And I was here for all of it.” —Nathan, Director, Content Marketing

Nathan got to talk with Rainbow all about Slow Dance on Kobo in Conversation.

A Sorceress Comes to Call by T. Kingfisher

“I finished T. Kingfisher’s latest release, A Sorceress Comes to Call, in a week! Her writing is always funny, heartwarming, creepy and disturbing (in the best way) all at once. A Sorceress Comes to Call is an imaginative retelling of The Goose Girl in the form of a dark comedy of manners with some great, unsettling horror elements thrown in. The cast of characters were what made the book shine – I personally love seeing protagonists in a fairy tale retelling over the age of fifty. It’s super refreshing in a sub-genre so often dominated by younger protags!” —Terrence, Author Engagement Specialist

Hot Summer by Elle Everhart

“I was in a bit of a reading slump, and Hot Summer pulled me right out of it. If you like romance and reality tv, this is the perfect summer read.” —Rachel, Author Engagement Manager, KWL

Pachinko by Min Jin Lee

“I just finished reading Pachinko last night (a bit late to the party, inspired by the NYT's Best Books of the Century list). Wow! This book is incredible. It's a beautifully crafted, multi-generational saga that begins in the early 20th century and extends into the 1980s. I realized how little I knew about Korean history and the experiences of Koreans living in Japan. I love books like this that offer both a compelling story and a wealth of knowledge. Despite its length and the many struggles and heartbreaks within, the narrative is so well done and beautifully written. I highly recommend giving it a read!”—Kristain, Manager, Campaign Services

The Mercy of Gods by James S. A. Corey

“I finished The Mercy of Gods this morning by James S.A. Corey. It’s the start of a new trilogy called The Captive's War. A quick summary is: what if the alien invaders won? A very cool concept, very good execution. If you've read any of The Expanse series, you'll know the world building is sprawling and filled with tons of lore to wrap your head around. This does something similar on a smaller scale. Highly recommended for anyone looking for some good character sci fi! As a bonus, the audio version is narrated by Jefferson Mays, who narrated the entire Expanse audio versions, very easy listen.” —Kyle, Technical Account Manager
