    Mysterious and Lyrical

In her sophomore book, Abigail Wilson continues to be a force to be reckoned with. I love the gothic feel to her Regency Romance and how it keeps you on the edge of your seat quickly turning pages. Her books show originality and have a lyrical tone that keeps the pace moving. Darkened hallways, a vast estate, candles, midnight riders, and a hero that you can imagine making your heart beat faster all cumulate for an incredible read. Trying to figure out who she can trust and the mysterious happenings, Rebecca Hunter shows great strength and bravery. She is curious, determined, and great at putting pieces together to form the big picture. I definitely recommend putting this on your must read list. I won a copy of this book and am so thankful I did. The honest review and opinions are my own and were not required.

    Mystery and Suspense!

‘There are some ghosts you might not want to summon back to life.’ The author has once again done a fabulous job of drawing the reader into the web of intrigue. Between nightmares, insanity, murder and suspicious occurrences you will find this Regency era story impossible to put down! I loved all the details about the Gothic style castle that added so many incredible ideas of what mystery surrounded it. The dark halls with nothing but candlelight, the creaking and shadows made me grateful I was reading in the daylight. The walks among the greenery just made me wonder if good or evil was around the corner. Young Rebecca is banished first to Scotland and just when she thinks things are getting better she must leave London for Greybourne Hall, close to where her brother died. Will she be able to discover what really happened that dark night? Perhaps these are some of the ghosts she doesn't want resurrected! I must admit, I was very caught up trying to figure out who could be trusted. I received an ARC through NetGalley and CelebrateLit. These impressions and opinions are my own.

    Great Read!

I have been waiting months to read this! Ever since reading and loving Abigail's debut novel in January, I knew I HAD to read this one. I am happy to say it did not disappoint! It was a bit of a slower start for me and it took a bit for me to really connect to the characters, but once I did I was hooked. The mystery was great and had a couple twists I did not see coming which I really liked about the book. It connects to her first book(which I HIGHLY recommend) and also to her upcoming book that releases in the Spring of 2020. Make sure you check out Abigail's books soon! I received this book from the publisher and was not required to post a positive review. All thoughts are my own.

    Great Gothic Romance

Rebecca Hunter has had so much to deal with in the past few years. Her mother's struggle with mental illness and her subsequent death; her brother Jacob's fatal accident that was likely murder; and then, being sent with her Aunt Jo to live with the man that many believe is responsible for Jacob's death. What follows is a story filled with mystery, intrigue, and the tantalizing start of a romance between Rebecca and her guardian Lewis Browning. The very strong attraction between the two of them soon becomes obvious and their first kiss simply took my breath away! Set in the Regency era, this book reminds me of the gothic romances by Victoria Holt and Mary Stewart that I fell in love with many years ago. Greybourne Manor with its many rooms and dark passageways; mysterious midnight rides and a hero who has been referred to as the Midnight Devil; and the young heroine who can't determine her true feelings for her guardian. 'Lewis Browning. What was he to me? My guardian? My coconspirator? My brother's murderer? Or something else entirely?' Midnight on the River Grey is the first book that I've read by Abigail Wilson but it won't be my last. She has proven herself to be a wonderful historical fiction author and I look forward to enjoying more of her books in the future! A review copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley and via JustRead Publicity Tours. I voluntarily chose to share my review and all views and opinions expressed are my own.

    Captivating!

I received an Advanced Reader Copy of Midnight on the River Grey. I didn't read it immediately because I wanted to savor its presence before getting lost in the mystery created by Abigail Wilson. Rebecca Hunter has arrived at the mysterious Greybourne Hall, newly dependent on its owner Lewis Browning after her brother Jacob's death. Since Mr. Browning may have had something to do with what happened to Jacob, Rebecca is reluctant to stay but decides to take the opportunity to look for answers. As she does so, she is faced with more questions regarding her past, her future, and the people around her. A suspenseful mix of historical romance and mystery with a gothic touch, Midnight on the River Grey captured me with the first word and only released me after I had devoured the last.
