    Another Great Christmas Story!

This was a fun book to read in the 12 Dukes of Christmas series. It was great to see Virginia in her own story, I love series because you get to see some of the same characters again. I enjoyed this book because Virginia is so strong and says what she thinks, she doesn't play games and hide her emotions. And being that way helped Theo open up and heal. The chemistry between the two of them has you rooting for them from the start. And of course, Duke the cat is the perfect addition to the story! I received an advanced copy so I could volunteer my honest opinion about the book. I recommend it, and I recommend all the books in the series, so far.

Ms Ridley has a talent for unusual heroines...

Never Say Duke is another great regency in the Twelve Dukes of Christmas series. Ms Ridley has a talent for unusual heroines that draws the reader into the story and leaves you emotionally invested. Socially awkward and uncomfortable with crowds, Virginia Underwood has an affinity for animals and is always saving strays. When a wounded Viscount shows up under the name of Mr. T, Virginia appoints herself his nurse and adopts yet another stray. An unlikely friendship turns into more for the mismatched couple as they learn to embrace who they are and work towards a sweet HEA. I really enjoyed the unconventional personality that Virginia has and Duke the cat is awesome sauce. This story will become a permanent addition to the shelf of books I reach to for a pick me up when life drags me down, a fun, sweet read. My voluntary, unbiased review is based upon a review copy from Netgalley.

    Humorous, entertaining and romantic

A beauty and the beast type romance, this novella is sweet, humorous and entertaining. Having met Virginia in previous books in this series, I wondered how this gentle woman’s quirky nature would evolve. Despite her fear of noise and crowds, she is nevertheless a determined personality, especially when it comes to rescuing strays. Theo, on the other hand, is equally determined not to be rescued but Virginia’s determination and her sly ally break through his solid wall of resistance. I enjoyed the humour and interaction between Theo and Virginia, but Duke added his own flavour to the story. This story is well written, clean and can be read by most age groups. Despite the fact that it is part of a series, it is nevertheless a standalone and comes to a delightfully happy ending. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

    Effervescent like champagne...

Brilliant! That’s the first word that came to mind after finishing “Never Say Duke” by Erica Ridley. This is Book 4 in the 12 Dukes series, and the first I read of this author. I did not know what to expect of a book taking place in a town called Christmas. The dialogue was effervescent as champagne, a perfect read to start the New Year. Virginia was a pure delight. She was quirky without being annoying, tragically situated without wallowing and being a downer. Her chemistry with Theo, the grumpy viscount, was refreshing, and I couldn’t wait to see how they’d turn out. Very romantic, light on the passion, and I am okay with that. It’s been a while since I’ve a read a book so pleasant. I enjoyed reading the story so much that I am looking forward to the next one in the 12 Dukes series… and I may go back and read the first three to get caught up. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced electronic copy of this book from NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

    H/h learn to live again!

So far, this series has not disappointed! Theodore is hiding out in Christmas to recover from his war wounds. Virginia has escaped her life by living in Christmas. This is the story of them both learning to face their fears and learn to live life which they do while falling in love. I loved Duke, the cat. His high-jinks were funny throughout the book. Swinton, the Duke of Azureford's butler stole the show for me! Thank you for the advanced copy. This is a series that I will be sad when it ends!
