    Don't bother

I was looking forward to this book, and I was sadly very disappointed. The narrator did the best she could with the material she had, and I don't blame her for getting the characters mixed up at times. The characters lacked characterisation and depth. The lack of depth could also be found in the plot and research that went into this novel. The plot was full of holes, the research felt like all the author did was read a couple of Wikipedia articles. I've never read a book that was more obviously written by an American about another culture - if the book were set in a country other than the U.K., the author would be called racist. Honestly, it read like a bad fan fiction. The potential was there, it was just completely wasted.
