This is a decent book and a decent series for someone looking for something new. The writing, about sorcery, magic and faraway lands, is not new. But Morgan Rice writes in a way that keeps the reader involved. There is very little lag in the pace of the books and the characters, though not unique, are like-able. The books are intended for an audience younger than me but I enjoyed the books in the series. The greatest flaw with this book is the editing. There are glaring typos and errors in the book that doesn't really detract from it until the price of the book start to come forward into the mind. Overall, a satisfying read even if it's a little expensive.
