    Great read

This was a very enjoyable second chance story. Great writing and characters made this a memorable story for this trope. Chase and Mimi once had a hot and heavy relationship but Chase decided to walk away when it became clear life in the public eye wasn't for Mimi. Now they are both back in Montana and Mimi decides to go to Chase's house to confront him about the past once and for all. One little problem - a major blizzard as come through trapping them in his cabin. With no way out and nothing else to do they are forced to deal with the past as well as the sizzling chemistry that still crackles between them. Will they find a way to be together or will they end up walking away once and for all? This is a well done book and definitely one I recommend.

    A Snowbound Scandal

A Snowbound Scandal is a second-chance (we think we're) opposites attract story. Mimi Andrix is an environmentalist that loves the outdoors and teaching kids about what they can do to protect the environment. On the other hand, Chase Ferguson is the son of an oil family and is now deep into politics - but he's one of the good ones. With a little bit of holiday spirit and a little bit of "I'm going to give you a piece of my mind," Mimi heads to Chase's vacation mansion with a Thanksgiving dinner so he won't be alone eating frozen food for the holiday. Stranded at his house by a snowstorm, Mimi and Chase decide to make the best of the circumstances and, well, this is a romance - so one thing leads to another - but eventually they part ways again. At least for a little while There were only a few points of the story that I had a hard time with - possibly because I did not read the rest of the series and one of the side stories seemed to carry over from another book. Outside of this one small thing, the story does very well as a standalone holiday romance. I loved Mimi, her desire to do the right thing, and her ability to not really care what anyone else thought. Chase was a bit of a stick in the mud, but in the end I enjoyed seeing a more spontaneous and softer side. I love that A Snowbound Scandal is more of a winter-theme than a true Christmas theme. While the holidays (mostly Thanksgiving) are mentioned, it's more about the snowstorm and being snowed in with the one that got away. *I voluntarily reviewed a free copy of this book*

    Second chance romance

A fun read of reunion and second chances, with a flash of heat. Recommend this one to any who enjoy this genre. This pair shows that sometimes distance and time can grow a relationship, or at least a chance to rekindle a sweet passion that's been banked to a tiny ember for 10 years.

    Second chance romance

Since Jessica Lemmon has written two of my favorite books I was overjoyed to be offered an ARC of her new project, A Snowbound Scandal. It will be available via bookselling locations on August 1st. As I enjoy Ms. Lemmon's writing I wasted no time diving into this new romance. I'm giving you my personal reflections to hopefully give you a heads up. Summertime is drawing to a close and we need to make the most of our last, for awhile, vacay time. In my humble opinion you can't go wrong with this book. Ms. Lemmon knows how to write a jerk character, troubled relationships and difficult happy ever afters. Our hero (?) Chase Ferguson happens to be the current Mayor of Dallas, TX and an heir to the Ferguson Oil Corporation. 10 Years ago, during a romantic summer holiday, Chase met Miriam (Mimi) Andrix and it was love at first sight on the beach. Summer lovin' leads to a trip to meet his parents (yep, it's that bad). 10 years later Chase takes a Thanksgiving holiday break back to the scene of the epic love affair. Running into Mimi was an accident, wasn't it? They reconnect during a blizzard and it gets pretty hot, no frostbite here. But all the old problems still exist. Ms. Lemmon has written a story of first love gone wrong, second chances, snowed in sex (what else is there to do?), fear and compromise. As I always say, a happy ever after is a given, it's the journey that counts. You'll have to get the book to read for yourself the twist in our story ending. It's pretty darn good if I do say so myself.

    Second Chance at Love

I enjoyed reading A Snowbound Scandal by Jessica Lemmon, book two of her Dallas Billionaires Club series. We have Chase Ferguson the Texas Billionaire who was also the Mayor of Dallas. His greatest regret was leaving Miriam Andrix to protect her from his public life ten years ago after spending the summer in Montana. That summer in Montana stayed with him and made such a huge impression on him that he ended up buying a lakeside mansion where he and Miriam had experienced some fun times. It’s now his vacation home, and he’s come for a solo Thanksgiving holiday. A chance encounter with Miriam ends up with her at his home, Thanksgiving dinner in tow as well as a blizzard that ends up trapping them. This time together gives them a chance to talk about what went wrong, and spend time having steamy, no strings attached sex, with both of them knowing that it can’t lead to anything more. Of course that’s easier said than done, especially when Chase’s opposition finds them together, hoping to use it to ruin him. Chase wants to protect Miriam, even if it means keeping her away from him in order for her to be safe. They have to decide whether being together is worth the risk and fortunately they make the choices that lead to a happy ending. Ms. Lemmon wrote a wonderful and emotional story that is not to be missed. She drew me into the lives of her characters, making me forget the world around me. I highly recommend this book to other readers. I’m definitely looking forward to the next book in this series which features Chases’s sister Stef’s book as she has a decidedly antagonistic relationship with his best friend and company security officer Emmett that is sure to make for a fun read! I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
