    Delightfully entertaining fantasy...

This collection consists of all three stories in the Alpha Underground Series (Half Wolf, Lone Wolf Dawn, and Wolf Landing). The series, in itself, is a spin-off of the Wolf Rampant series – another wonderful venture into the realm of shifter fantasy offered by Aimee Easterling. While this series can absolutely be enjoyed as a separate stand-alone series without feeling lost, I can’t imagine not wanting to have both in your collection. In this trilogy we follow a female shifter named Fen as she grows and develops into a true alpha pack leader while facing adversity and villainy from both shifters and “one-bodies” (humans). Along the way, she finds Hunter, her destined mate and, together they face a multitude of challenges and tribulations as they fight for the safety and the rights of their ragtag collection of shifters to become a recognized pack in the eyes of the shifter community. Each story is the perfect blend of imagination, humor, adventure and danger. I found that it was very easy to become so immersed in these stories that I, at times, became impatient with the narrator and wanted her to read faster (but that was probably just me wanting to know what happened next). Despite a tendency for overemphasis of too many words while reading, the narrator, Angel Clark offers an enjoyable performance in all three of the books in this series. The violence is not graphic, the language is not foul, the sex scenes are steamy, and the stories are nothing short of captivating. There is never a dull moment in the lives of these lovable characters so sit back with your favorite beverage and enjoy the ride. While I did purchase each book separately, the author provided me with a free audiobook copy of the trilogy and I am voluntarily offering this honest review. If you find this review helpful, I thank you for so indicating.

    Growing to be an Alpha

Alpha Underground Trilogy by Aimee Easterling Fen stories had been very interesting, full of action, intrigue, suspense and with strong characters that kept my interest. Love the stories that stimulate my imagination and made me feel and understand the characters and these stories were very satisfying. Half Wolf Fen was leading her new pack as an alpha, a weak and unskilled one but anyway an alpha. Her leadership was teetering, her chickened wolf was not helping and the Enforcer was stalking them and they got involved in a very dangerous situation. Circumstances had added new mates to the pack and all was not peaches and cream. There was distrust, misunderstanding and even deceive and betrayal. But what seemed to be the obvious wasn’t and soon things got more complicated, the action fiercer and Fen had to make her mind and stand for what was duty and protect her pack. Really enjoyed the story, the characters, the story line, Fen inner bickering with her wolf and of course, her scenes with Hunter. Seems she was not without resources when it came to her attraction to him. Liked the author’s writing style. The characters were interesting, the narrations and descriptions detailed with Fen’s comments and even her cluelessness toward what was around her was amusing. Lone Wolf Dawn Fen still was thinking of herself as a rejected and weak werewolf. Good her mate Hunter pushed her to face a reality she had not wanted to deal with. He knew his mate needed to move on. When she received news of her father, she knew she didn’t have other choice. She must go and face her past. But things were not as she had though and soon they were in great danger. This second book was very interesting with action, suspense, intrigue, a lot of rogue werewolves and a good ending. Liked the twists in the story and how the plot development showed a Fen with a new purpose and sense of value. Wolf Landing In this final installment, Fen was fighting for a territory for her group and the right to be considered pack. Many obstacles were in her way and she and her mate were faced with a new Enforcer, murders, kidnapping and a threat to Fen and her wolf. Fen character had learned and grow a lot since the first story and her relationship with Hunter was solid. Enjoyed the plot development, the intrigue, the detailed descriptions and narrations and how they became pack. The author kept me reading avidly with all the action and suspense in the story.
