    Mixed feelings

I had mixed feelings about this novel. It had some valid points to make, but it was so dystopian, so one-sided, that it was hard to believe in. The dialogue was not natural, perhaps the mark of a first novel. I finished the book, and it disturbed me (likely the author's intent) but there were glitches.

    hard to read

So disappointed in this book. Confusing at many parts. The first chapters were ok,the middle is horribly confusing and not an interesting read. The last few chapters were good. I would not recommend this book.

    American war

It's a beautiful book with moments that will have you cheering and moments that will have you weeping the different perspectives of different situations and the real life issues like il Es and the innocence of children truly a great book.

    Great read

Beautifully written. Heartbreakingly beautiful descriptions of places that live only as memories and the effects of warped ideas and war.

    Brilliant & Captivating

It isn't often that a book surprises and teaches you the way American War does. An easy, engrossing read that is hugely impactful. I came for a view of a post-apocoyptic America and am left with a more empathetic political view. A must read.
