  • Whiplash!

Whiplash! I was laughing, crying, then suddenly overcome with the urge to scream in frustration - and all in the same paragraph!!! Gotta love Lexi! That woman was all backbone and venom. Too bad Nico took forever to get past his own insecurities and see it! Sure eventually he stopped being a horse's backside and capitulated to the explosive perfection that was the two of them. But I can tell you the wait was painful! Thank goodness she could see through his blustering. Nico's story is probably my favorite of the brothers. From the opening scene, it was packed with action, betrayal, mystery, subterfuge, suspense, and some serious heat from our two newlyweds. Any story that can pull so many emotions from me is a hit in my book.

  • A superb romantic suspense story

I always love a great enemies-to-lovers story and when it is written by one of my favorite authors in book 3 of the fabulous Brooklyn Brothers series, even better. Melanie Munton does not disappoint. Nico Rosetti has no idea how to have an honest-to-God relationship with a woman. One-night stands are his thing. Not sharing his home with a stranger and definitely not facing his siblings’ ribbing about the family manwhore bringing home his Russian bride. But Lexi is not the spoiled rich girl he originally thought. She is generous and kind and has a heartbreaking past. He will honor his promise to Lexi’s father and will protect her until it is safe for her to go back home, but why does it give him indigestion every time he thinks about her returning home to Russia. Lexi Kozlov has married a surly and arrogant stranger at her father’s behest and is thousands of miles away from home. Her new husband Nico has many layers and her attraction grows as they are peeled away revealing the truly remarkable and heroic man he is. It’s just getting him to believe it himself. Her head says it’s a temporary marriage, but her heart wants more. Nico and Lexi are made for each other. His cocky quips and her sarcastic comebacks are outrageous and oh, so hot!! Add in an impromptu marriage deal and let the sparks fly. The steamy scenes in the parking garage and the pool left me breathless. And let’s not forget the many LOL moments, particularly the Battle of the Sexes charades competition and the steady teasing Nico endures from his siblings. There is also a bit of mystery and life-threatening suspense woven into the story as well as a few surprises. As for supporting characters, you can’t beat the incredible Rosetti family who takes Lexi in with no questions asked. For Lexi, it means so much as an only child with the tragic past she had. I relished this superb romantic suspense story about finding love unexpectedly with an unknown threat that could tear them apart. If you love jealous possessive alpha males and brave sassy females, give this book a try. Thank you again to Ms. Munton for giving me the opportunity to read this book with no expectation of a positive review.
