    Jane Lovering Never Disappoints Me

Jane Lovering never disappoints Once more Jane has produced the goods. I really love her quirky sense of humour, and the way she expresses it – I laughed out loud on a couple of occasions and this is a rare happening for me. She also easily manages to weave in some pathos too – so I shed a few tears as well. The story revolves around Mattie, who has managed to escape from an abusive relationship very recently and is still on a knife-edge about it, and her best friend Toby – the only part of her past life that she managed to keep going during her relationship with Simon. Mattie receives a bequest with an unusual condition, and the story is about her and Toby’s efforts to fulfil it – with a quirk to the solution. Although the title involves Christmas, I think this could be read and enjoyed at any time, it hits the right buttons for me, a very satisfying and fulfilling read. My only complaint is that I would have liked it longer! Though this did mean that I read it in one sitting and didn’t have to put it down….
