  • good read

I really enjoyed this book. Much of what Celina Caesar-Chavannes has to say about women and diversity resonates with me. And here’s one of life’s little ironies: as I was reading the final chapter, Lisa Laflamme was wrapping up the CTV National News with an item about a tweet from Chief of the Defence Staff Admiral Art McDonald. In the tweet, Adm McDonald says “Conversations on diversity, inclusion, and culture change are not incompatible with our thirst for operational excellence. I count on my senior leaders to champion culture change. Diversity makes us stronger, inclusion improves our institution.” Beneath this inspirational message is a photo of eight white men around an conference table. Celina, please keep raising hell!

  • So authentic!

I wasnt sure i could make it through the book….. it was so authentic and touched upon so many experiences i have had, that i often had to put the book down and cry with Celina, to be angry, to be overwhelmed. The way she tells her story and shares her truth, especially about mental health, is incredible genuine and raw. I am so grateful she has shared her story in this way.

    Thanks for your feedback!
