    Caraval

The thing I liked most about this novel was the idea behind the story. I can say I liked the book, also because its fluency allowed me to immerse in the story, but once I finished I realized that many things were not explained, leaving me with many doubts about the plot and the characters. The main characters don't have characteristics that make them particular or peculiar, but they are described just enough to understand the reason of their actions. The biggest problem is the rest of the characters, because we don't know nothing about them, they appear in scenes and then disappear immediately after. I don't want to give a higher rating to this book because I find that some elements are missing in the story to make the reader passionate, not just to the story but also to the characters and the world created. I would have liked to know more about Caraval and its artists, understand why or how of their presence, understand how this world was made, since is mentioned a subdivision in Empires, the reason why Legend instead has a small island in the middle of everything and under nobody's rule. I understand give the information "strictly" necessary to understand the story but I think a little more details wouldn't have been bad. I hope for a more intriguing and explanatory sequel.

    It's only a game....

Caraval is a mysterious and almost a Cirque Du Solei performance. They say it's a game. They say not to get carried away. They say it's only a game and yet nothing about this "game" feels safe. Nothing about this game seems friendly. Is it really a game? Caraval is going to have your mind spilling theories, fears, worries, and feelings you don't want, didn't ask for, and are afraid to acknowledge. The twisting turning thoughts will consume your mind and make you question whether or not you are playing... I loved the constant guessing. Questioning everything and trying to follow the trails of crumbs scattered any and everywhere kept me almost as entertained as the story itself. Whether you blindly trust Scarlett's intuition or are developing your own theories, Caraval will pull you in and make it more than a game. Especially if you let your heart get involved...

    Amazing!

This book was soooo good. There were so many plot twists and it was trippy in a good way, it really put you in the shoes of the msin character. The ending was so cool and totally not what I expected.
