    Fantastic and Suspenseful!

Gah, so good! One of my favourites in the series so far! The story was excellent, complex, and unconventional––one person setting off a ripple effect of chaos and suffering in the otherwise peaceful Courtyard. I loved how so simple a concept turned into a suspenseful adventure with one of the wickedest villains so far. Poor Monty though––that guy just can't catch a break. All the best characters returned in fine form, with Miss Twyla being one of the biggest badasses. There were some truly heart-warming moments, especially with Skippy and the ending (Gah! The ending!!!), and the climax was insanely suspenseful. Things are going to get rough for Meg and the Courtyard in the next little while, but she just keeps getting stronger and stronger after every trial. I honestly can't wait to read the next book. This series is just so unique and incredible, I can't recommend it to urban fantasy fans enough!

This author and the series of books about the Others are outstanding. She creates such a level of interesting scenarios that just ensnare the reader. A joy to read!!TRULY

    Etched in Bone

Brilliant as Was the whole series. Thought provoking commentary on human nature mixed with the right degree of humor and fantasy.

    Eched in Bone

This story arc has ended, darn it. Family dynamcs and a criminal brother for the police contact with the Others. The disruptions within a working community and the insistance by the Elders, to keep him and his family around to observe. Escalation of anger, frustration and guilt on various levels, with an end you cringe at,but cheer. I'm looking forward to snapshots in future books, of the development of Meg and Simons romance.
