Fall on Your Knees by Ann Marie MacDonald

Garbage! I chose to read this book because it was listed as a best seller and set in Cape Breton (I'm from N. S.) but I can honestly say it was the WORST book I've ever read! About a horribly dysfunctional family, the story revolves around depression, abuse and incest. I read for enjoyment but there was nothing enjoyable about this book. Bleak, depressive, disgusting to the point of being offensive, I forced myself to finish it so I could write this review. Why they mention "hilariously funny" in the Kobo précis is incomprehensible nor can I imagine why it would ever be deemed a best seller. Don't waste your time or money on this book. Ann Marie MacDonald is on the top of my list of authors to avoid!

    Couldn't do it

This book dragged and could have told the story in hundreds fewer pages. I couldn't trudge through to the end. When it got to be about Mercedes, Frances and lily I felt like I was getting a play by play of their mundane daily life, over and over. One of the most boring books I've ever read.
