    Beautiful all encompassing love...

Toni Aleo has done it again! This book is 5 Stars of beautiful all encompassing love. It is a reminder of what Toni does best - write real and honest love stories. This book brought me back to the beginning of the Assassins series with its slow burn and build up. The story has a little bit of everything... it is emotional and slightly angsty, it is powerful and romantic, and at times sinfully dirty. Jensen has to be one of my favorite of Toni's Assassins... he is everything a woman wants in man. He is kind, generous, romantic, beautiful, take-charge and dirty. His heart is by far the largest of all the Assassins. I would love to spend more time with him. Wren... what can I say about her? I feel such a kinship to her. There were times I was reading this and I was like "how did Toni get in my head?" Wren is real and true... she is a strong and independent woman with real feelings, emotions, needs and problems. Don't get me wrong,l she does alot of stupid things. But don't we all. At the end of the day this is a story about to people, two very real people who make mistakes. This is love story that truly transcends time and place. It's a beautiful story of life and love and perseverance and trust!

    Not nature but nurture

Jensen and Wren - what a combination, brought together for the wrong reasons but really for the right reason. It takes a lot for Wren to get to the point where she can admit that what she has with Jensen might be good but he's already there, and has been there since he was much younger. There is a lot of angst in this book because of the theme and it all comes to a head where some relationships can be mended and some will have to fall by the wayside. If anyone deserves a HEA it is these two. Love the epilogue and the way this prepares you for Wells' story.

    In The Crease

This book has given me another favourite couple! Love the strength and vulnerability of both the main characters. Had me laughing out loud and crying a few tears. Can't wait for the next in the series.

    She shoots, she scores...AGAIN!

As usual, Toni Aleo’s book is like a drug you cannot get enough of! Is this book FDA approved? Because the list of side effects from reading this story is huge! I believe that every possible emotion was experiences while reading Wren and Jensen’s story. Wren has to be one of the most difficult and insecure lady protagonists written by Toni, and yet you find yourself feeling for her and cheering for her at every turn! How her story begins really lets the reader feel empathy for her from the getgo. Also, her general attitude and the relationship she has with her familiy makes the whole storyline more believable, especially since the « reason » for starting a relationship with the male protagonist might seem a bit far fetched at the beginning. As for Jensen (what a man!) there is NOTHING not swoonworthy about him. Gah, making all other men on earth seem « just average »...The guy is compassion and resilience incarnate during most of the story, but with enough fire to know that he is real. His backstory is a heartbreaking one and despite his past, he steps up to make the best of his new relationship with Wren. How he loves her, and how she responds to his love at different stages of the story was just fascinating to read and feel. Maybe there were not as many sexy scenes as usual, maybe I feel I am still wondering if she will get her inheritence, and maybe I feel wierd about Jensen’s mother saying « mon/ma chou » because I am a French Canadian and know that we dont use that terme of endearment in that specific way, but all in all, Toni Aleo has once again raised the bar in termes of delivering a story that is real and raw. Never have I read stories that make me cry, smile, cringe, laugh, want to be hugged, so much. She is a master writer and her stories need to read! Thank you for how generous you are with your words. This makes my top three list in the Assasins Series by Toni Aleo.

    In the crease

I have read all of the books in the series and loved this one just as much. Couldn't put it down.
