Hard to rate. Absolutely love this author

I found this really hard to rate and review. On one hand I absolutely love CAR and most of her books I loved the way the book was written and included very well into the current series but I just didn’t jell well with Carter and Roxi, even though I’ve been waiting to find out what all drama between them was all about. I know not every relationship is easy and needs working at but I just felt that it was all unnecessary because of there lack of there communication and they hurt each other and there family because of something as simple as them not wanting to stop working and talk to each other. I could of given 5 stars just because I love this author but I really didn’t enjoy this book like all the others and couldn’t rate dishonestly.

The Montgomery’s are back and I will say that I had mixed feelings about this book. There was a bit of repetition through the book when it came to how the main characters felt about each other, but what really got on my nerves was that neither character took control of the whole situation and COMMUNICATE! Yes, Roxie’s character was dealing with things that would totally destroy and devastate most women and doing it with only her husband knowing is even worse. But, that is her fault! The Montgomery’s are a strong and caring family, but she hide from her family with this and that is where things started going wrong. I saw Carter are such a stronger character, but had some issues with him. He gave up too easy. But, knowing the situation of the story, knowing what his character was going through, I can’t say that I don’t understand part of the way that his character acted. But I did expect more. The Montgomery’’s are all so strong and opinionated that it was a real shock to see one that wasn’t living up to the image that I had, but again, the situation in which the characters have could definitely have created and nurtured the difference. I will say after all that …. I still liked the story. When it came to characters pulling up their proverbial big girl and big boy pants, they did freaking fantastic! They showed so much why I like the series and the characters as a whole. But they definitely had issues with communication that were really irritating. Strength did persevere towards the end and Carter so totally deemed himself to me. They started talking and then started healing. So my overall thoughts are mixed, but the story itself was both heart wrenching and strong. The characters were likable (maybe not in the beginning but they definitely pulled it out!). While the story took some time, I was totally happy with the overall impact. So, I will say give the story a shot and push through. You will definitely be happy in the end. Happy reading!

    Beautiful story

Omg this story just wrecked me in so many ways emotionally. It’s a rollercoaster ride of emotions and the way Carrie Ann Ryan spins the tale is very beautiful. Carter and Roxie have a lot to deal with and to learn and just the way they got to happy is truly beautiful. I’m still emotional. I absolutely love this story.

Carter and Roxy - Such an Emotional Read

Carter and Roxy have featured in the previous books in this wonderful series but this book is all about them, I feel you should read the previous book first though because you will get more from this story if you have, but that said I supposed you could read it as a stand-alone. This is a story which broke my heart whilst reading it, so much pain and strife, it really is terrible when you think you have found your perfect partner but things aren't how they should be. It's a story about none communication, it's a heart wrenching, emotional story about how you can love someone but still drift apart. Roxie is the youngest in her large loving family who are supportive and there for her but because of this, she has always strived to prove herself whilst Carter lost his parents when he was 18. When he married Roxie the Mongomery family welcomed him into the fold, he didn't just get the woman he loved, he gained a family too! This story is one of the most emotional I have ever read and I warn you to have your tissues handy because you will need them. Whilst the first part of this story broke my heart the second half put it back together again. The ups and downs they go through as they strive to work things out and get back to where they should be, where they both need to be are so well written. The characters themselves feel like old friends and you hurt for them and rejoice with them. I can't say more without spoiling the book for you but do read it, it's an excellent emotional rollercoaster you won't want to miss.

    Lovely read

Another great story in the Montgomery Ink series. I totally love Roxie and Carter - their relationship struggles and the character development create a wonderful story. Very heartbreaking, lots of tissues, but very rewarding.
