    Happy Ever After

I was excited reading Takeover but this really went so much further in so many ways. All I can say is WOW. I feel exhausted from the roller coaster of emotions, from hatred to joy, from crying becsuse of despair to crying from joy. This was definitely a much deeper exploration of the kinkier side of gay sex, maybe too much for some but for me it was perfect. I've already preordered the next two sequels and am looking forward to them.

    Sensual and Heart-Wrenching

***Warning – This is an M/M book with some very graphic BDSM and Dominant/submissive sex scenes that may make some readers uncomfortable*** This is my first time reading Anna Zabo and I was thoroughly impressed. She writes a story that titillates as well as breaks your heart. The chemistry between Justin and Eli was palpable and their courtship was full of dangerous flirtation and sexual innuendo. Both men have some very heavy demons to fight and the damage done is almost irreparable. What I really liked was how multi-faceted Eli and Justin’s personalities were. At times, the pair couldn’t be more different yet the same in so many ways. They fit together beautifully and it was equal parts joy and sorrow watching their story unfold. I didn’t read the first book in the series and I’m kicking myself for not having found it first. JUST BUSINESS can certainly be read as a standalone but the first book is Sam’s story—Eli and Justin’s boss. He and his partner Michael are very interesting characters and I’m curious about their journey. There are BDSM and D/s (Dominant/submissive) themes in the book. I know many readers don’t like those aspects in a story. I don’t understand why someone would want to enter into the lifestyle and I usually don’t read books with these themes, but I thought those scenes were well-written and very entertaining. I thought the author portrayed them well and were also VERY sexy to read. I enjoyed the story and I loved watching Justin and Eli’s relationship develop. It wasn’t a pretty happily ever after but both characters worked hard to achieve it and that makes it all the more beautiful despite the rocky path to get there. ***I was gifted an eBook copy from the publisher via Net Galley in exchange for an honest review. All conclusions reached are my own***

BDSM m/m romance with great characters and story

This steamy BDSM romance is the story of Justin and Eli. While Justin has been working at a coffee shop to make ends meet, the chance to become an intern for the corporation housed in the same building, finally using his business education, is too good to pass up. Never mind the fact that he has an attraction to Eli, the CFO of the company. When it becomes clear that Eli returns that attraction, things heat up between them. But Justin's been in this position before - submissive to a wealthy Dom and though Eli isn't the same, the trauma of Justin's past relationship makes it difficult for him to see clearly where their relationship is headed. Is he willing to take the risk? And will Eli be able to convince Justin that he'll keep all of him safe? Well, this isn't your typical office romance, but I really enjoyed it. It's told from both points of view so you get a good sense of where Eli and Justin are coming from, the difficulties and emotional traumas they've had in their pasts, and where they stand in the quest to find that one good man. Eli comes across as a strong, tough, reserved man at the start though we quickly learn the reasons for it, and as he and Justin become more involved his humour and his vulnerability come through. Justin is cocky, friendly and somewhat arrogant but that's a façade that hides his true nature as someone looking to be in a relationship where the control is out of his hands - but only in the bedroom. His previous D/s relationship went from a mutual understanding to an abusive one, and though Eli reminds him of that experience in some ways, it is entirely superficial. The more he gets to know Eli, the more they interact, it becomes obvious that Eli is different. But that doesn't stop Justin's fears and it's only in addressing them that he'll be able to move forward. The SM quotient of this BDSM story was on a level that pushed the comfort zone for me, but it was essential to the characters and fully consensual so even though I found some scenes uncomfortable to read (the whole pain thing just isn't my cup of tea), they didn't detract from my overall feeling about the story. I was particularly impressed with the steadfastness of Eli in providing aftercare for Justin and how important this was to him. It gave a strong sense of his feelings of responsibility in this regard, and also his affection and care for Justin. I also appreciated that while the D/s relationship is definitely a strong part of their connection there are some love scenes between them where they treat each other equally, and even ones where Eli submits to Justin to prove that equality. When things between them go awry as the inevitable conflict comes up, it's clear that Eli is heartbroken but willing to give Justin all the space he needs to come to terms with his feelings. Though I hadn't read the first story in the series, the characters of Sam and Michael about whom that story revolves are present here as important secondary characters and the friendship they show to both Eli and Justin is heartfelt. Overall, this was a great story - hot steamy sex scenes and vulnerable and interesting characters. 5 stars.

    Excellent

Once again, an excellent book by Anna Zabo. This book took up a few months after the first one left and built on the foundation she set. The characters are realistic, flawed, and kind of wonderfull. The pacing is on point, and the storyline kept me invested from start to finish.

    Beautiful and erotic

Both men are suffering from their pasts. At first it seems that are only making each other's pain worse, but eventually it's realized that each is exactly the right person to help the other heal. There's lots of soul searching and questioning and tons of sexy times. Just Business is a beautiful and erotic romance.
