    Enjoyable read

I found this mystery quite satisfying. I thought I knew who the murderer was quite early in the book, but there was no real reason to suspect this. As the novel progressed I was still thinking it could be, but I was so intrigued I kept reading to find out. I won’t say if my suspicions were verified but I will say, I was not disappointed that I read the book. I plan on reading more by this author.

    Predictable but still good

Unfortunately for me I figured out whodunit fairly early in the story, but it was an enjoyable read nonetheless. Good characters

    Murder at the courthouse

Characters are well drawn. The presence of multiple secondary characters is somewhat confusing, and everyone of them is a nosy busybody and a gossip. Typical small town dynamics. A lot of space was devoted to the main character thinking. It was not clear what he was thinking just that he was. The middle half of book dragged.

    Good read

Enjoyed the storey-line, it kept me reading and guessing 'who done it'. Characters were well defined. Appreciated the use of 'clean' language and writting style.

Solid start to a "new to me" series.

Interesting protagonist. Quirky inhabitants of a "typical" small town. A little slow to start. Character rather than action driven, which is nice for a change, in a mystery.
