A star is born in Thor..An explosive read!

I love this new series! Sgt. Linda Hamlin and hot Chocolatier Chef Clive Andrews are not the couple you would expect to find a HEA together. And lets not forget another star in this story in Linda's K9 partner, Thor, a lovable mutt that proves just how good he is in finding explosives. This is only one of the things that make this story unique and a page turner. As in many of Mr. Buchman's books, it is a sexy hot read of suspense as he weaves a story that is filled with strong characters, mystery, fun and falling in love for the H and h. While it is a book that stands alone, I appreciated the connections with others in the story from previous books. Even if this is your first story by this author, the storyline flows so well, that a new reader will have no problem in finding "Off The Leash" a fantastic read. Looking forward to the next book in the 'White House Protection Force' series, I would like to thank the author for gifting me "Off The Leash". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 5 Stars!

    A good read

I received a free copy of this title from the publisher in exchange for an honest review. I love the Night Stalker series and I tend to compare all of M.L.'s other books to these. It's not as good as a Night Stalker book but it certainly kept me reading and I did enjoy it. Would I read the next book in the series? Yes, I probably will!

Excellent start to a new series

Buchman’s latest novel takes us back to the White House to meet a few old friends, and plenty of new ones. Linda Hamlin has just retired from the Army, and takes to her new career helping guard the White House in fine style. Clive the Chocolatier is a somewhat different character, since he doesn’t have any connection to military / security forces, other than being surrounded by them when at work, so we get a slightly different vibe from the original Night Stalkers/White House books. But we do still get to see some old favourites in new roles: Dilya, especially, plays a significant part in the storyline, which I suspect (hope) will continue in the next book. (There is actually a Dilya bonus scene available, which I would recommend getting your hands on, if you can.) And who wouldn’t love the mysterious Miss Watson – she reminds me a little of Hetty from NCIS Los Angeles. So: new and interesting characters, hints of old favourites, a solid storyline, canine companions for the dog-lovers amongst us, and I’m looking forward to Book 2 which (thankfully) is out at the end of the month. Off the Leash

A new series but with a lot of familiar characters which tell me this will be a series to follow. Love this story with an unusual character in the mix. The love story rocks.

    Sweet and light

I agree completely with a previous reviewer. This is a sweet, light book. Not in the same class as the Night Stalkers works, (though I suspect that was not the author's objective anyway) but a nice read for a lazy, snowy Sunday afternoon or a boring flight. If you want to experience this author at his best don't miss The Night is Mine, by far his very best work all around. I received a free copy of this title from the publisher in exchange for an honest review.
