  • Kelley Armstrong is one of my all time favourite authors (her Otherworld series is my top fav) so even though I wasn't quite sure what to expect from this one I knew that I was probably going to love it. I still was a bit hesitant to read it however.. mostly because I really wanted to love it and I wasn't sure if I could deal with my disappointment if I didn't... but thankfully there was nothing for me to worry about as the story pulled me in from the first page and then I did not want to put it down till I finished it :) Omens is the first in a series and I think overall the novel really reflected that. It has a lot of world building and set up for the rest of the story but I felt it all worked really well into setting up the main characters and their present day situation (as well as laying groundwork for other stuff - what I'm not completely sure of but I know its there). I was quite happy with the end though I did wish we got more information about the world and what is going as I was left with more questions than answers.. Overall this book is a nice mix of supernatural elements and murder mystery story.

  • What a rush!

I was sorry to say goodbye to the Otherworld and skeptical to visit this new town. I was wrong to worry. As always Kelley does not disappoint. A twisting gripping adventure with developing players you want to know more about. No wasted flowery prose or thesaurus based monologues just a good honest read. Trust me, read it and you will want to visit Cainsville again and again. Fingers crossed. ;)

  • Omens

First time reading Kelley Armstrong and I can't wait to open Visions next. Completely unlike what I was expecting for this book, but a welcome surprise. It was extremely hard to put down & for that reason alone, five stars is too little.

  • Good new direction Kelley

Very interesting new theme for Kelley Armstrong. Mixing mystery with the mystical and mystical with self discovery. Looking forward to the next one.
