    Great Anthology!

This is an interesting compilation of authors, I am a great fan of Alexandra Ivy and Rebecca Zanetti and it was my first time reading Dianne Duvall and Hannah Jane Hunt by Alexandra Ivy : The Sentinels is on my favorite series list so this novella was a treat for me. Loved Mika's single minded focus on Bailey and on his mission at the same time. This Sentinel knows what he wants and nothing is going to stop him from going after it. 5 stars for Hunt Scorpius Rising by Rebecca Zanetti : A prequel novella to her upcoming new series The Scorpius Syndrome. Since I am a fan of the TV show Helix, this one was right up my alley. Definitely going to follow this series. 4 stars for Scorpius Rising Phantom Embrace by Dianne Duvall : This author was a first for me and I found her writing to be a wonderful mix of classic and contemporary. Will be reading up on other titles in this series. 4 stars for Phantom Embrace Stake Out by Hannah Jayne : Another first time author for me. Although I enjoy vampire stories, I just could not get into this one so I didn't finish it. I may visit it later since it is quite an extensive series but for now 3 stars for Stake Out. Another great anthology for Alexandra!

**I was given an ARC by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.** -------------------------------------- Four of today’s most intriguing paranormal authors entice readers deep into the shadows, where vampires, immortals, and other supernatural creatures heat up the night... -------------------------------------- I requested this book because of Alexandra Ivy. I've read the majority of her work, and love it. To be honest I didn't even realize there were 4 stories in this I thought it was just 2 until after I finished the first story and was curious as to why my kindle said I was only 26% finished! lol On the Hunt did not disappoint. A strong (stubborn) hero paired with an equally strong (stubborn) heroine leads to an explosive adventure during which they both realize they had some growing up to do before they could approach the life they had hoped to have with understanding. Scorpius Rising pairs another dynamic duo who have "alpha" issues in a race against nature & time. Each has their own desired outcome for the research that is being done. Can they work out their differences? It took me a few pages to figure out what was going on in Phantom Embrace, but once I did the read was well worth it. Yuri & Cat have a relationship unlike any I'd read about before which kept me going through the whole of their story. Stake Out was a quick, fun read with a mysterious twist - no romance here, but a great read just the same. It proves that jealousy doesn't end with death. ;)

    Some Good, Some Bad

This is a tough one to review. There are 4 stories here and one was good, one was great and two were not so good. The first story, On The Hunt, was really good. I liked this story so much better than the first book in the series for some reason. It brings the story out into a world that is relatable, the characters are terrific and exciting to read. That this long love is finally coming to fruition just really rounds out the whole story and brings the reader no only closure but a piece of their happiness. Scorpius Rising is fantastic. I loved how the story unfolds, how the characters move through the story and the plot changes as the story evolves. The characters were unbelievably awesome, the action was so fast-paced that you are really on the edge of your seat all the way through. Phantom Embrace was not so great. Part of the reason is because it's so connected to the other books in the series that you really feel like you are dumped into the middle of the action. There is so much action and backstory that if you haven't read the series you just can't get attached to the story or the characters. Stake Out was really not so great. Not only is there too much backstory that someone who hasn't read the series just can't get a grip on it, but the story is just so campy and over the top that if you don't have a history with this series it just makes it silly.
