Great start to the Christmas season

I love Christmas romances! Erica Ridley's start of the 12 Dukes of Christmas series was so much fun! The hero and heroine are very entertaining and the townspeople were so funny. I love the idea of the town at the center of the story. It sounds like a dream place to visit. I am looking forward to more from this series in November 2018. It will be a fun way to usher in the season!

    lovely romance

Once Upon a Duke by Erica Ridley is part of the 12 Dukes of Christmas historical romance series. I really enjoyed this book. Ridley is a master of historical romance. I especially felt drawn to the heroine Noelle Pratchett. She lives in a snowy mountain village called Cressmouth in the northern part of England. Benjamin Ward, the fifth Duke of Silkridge, returns for the probate of his grandfather’s will. He and Noelle had a brief romance in the past. Is it possible for something to spring to life again or has too much time past? I love all of Ms. Ridley’s books. This one was a very good holiday romance.

    I recommend this book

I think this is going to be an amazing series! I loved this book and look forward to reading the other 11 dukes’ stories. I loved all the references to Dickens’ novella ‘A Christmas Carol’ even though this story takes place in regency times, a few decades before Dickens wrote his book. A fun book, I definitely recommend it. I was gifted an advanced copy so I could voluntarily offer my honest review.

    Once Upon a Duke

Erica is always written books for us to read. This is the beginning of a new series. It will be Dukes and Christmas. Noelle Pratchett is a lady to help every one and the Castle. Now she is waiting for the Duke of Silkridge as Benjamin Ward. He wants his dead mother's necklace. This is a really different story! Even all in the town of Cressmouth go with it! There is a lot of action here. They all go as Christmas for their play! I would recommend for you to read this book. It is to be for everyone! You may need tissues for Happy and Sad.Give this book a chance. You won't regret from Erica!

Fairytale love, hilarity and second chances

With a nod and a wave to Charles Dickens' Christmas Carol, Once Upon a Duke takes Benjamin, the Duke of Silkridge, back to the unforgiving climes of Cressmouth, where he lost his most valuable possession. There he encounters the one woman he most regrets leaving behind. Noelle Pratchett felt her heart drop when the Duke of Silkridge appeared on the scene, reminding her of all she had lost. She vows to guard her heart but finds that all is not as she first supposed. She gently draws Benjamin into the life of the people of Cressmouth where he discovers that he, in fact, does have a part to play. This gentle love story, with hilarious incidents and outright comedy leaves the reader with a warm heart and smile on one's face. I received a copy of this book from Netgalley as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
