    Promises to kep

Interesting fictional account of the Acadian Expulsion along with a somewhat unlikely love story.

    Couldn't put it down.

I really enjoyed this story. The weaving of friendships between the Mi'kmaq and Acadians, and interactions between the British Army and Acadians were well done. I enjoyed that the writer wrote from different perspectives so we can see into what the different characters are thinking at the same time.

I enjoyed the read. It's a romatic historical novel. and it's Canadian! Love to read more about Canada and its past. It's a light and easily read book. I would recommend this book as an extra for our Book Club Members.
