    Reckless Daughter

Joyful and painful to read all at once. This book was so honest and comprehensive and made me very emotional, at times. The author seemed to have a strong connection to his subject and that came through in so many ways. I really loved this book!

    Difficult to follow through

Too technical in regards to music. Not in proper chronological order.

    Amazing subject, terrible writer

I really did not like this book. I am a fan of Joni Mitchell, but not of David Yaffe. Certainly her life is remarkable, but he is not a storyteller, I found him dull and repetitive. He seemed more interested telling the reader what they should think or how he thought Joni felt instead of just revealing her life to us.

Could use another round of edits.

I read this book while listening to Joni’s music from “Seagull” to “Shine”. A great way to spend a few weeks. The book could use a bit more polish, maybe catching errors like when Herbie Hancock is said to love both Rhythm and Blues.
