This is a really fantastic whodunit. There were so many twists and turns, and I had trouble putting it down. When I did finally have to go feed my family, I kept thinking about the mystery and about Rachel and Michael. I was particularly impressed with the way the author handled Rachel's character. I haven't liked her since I read Magenta several years ago, and I wondered how I was going to deal with a whole book of her. But in this book, we get to see her through Michael's eyes. That changes everything. They make great sense as a couple, and they had some beautiful scenes together.

  • Just WOW!!

Where do I begin? This is a well-paced suspense-filled story filled with humour and heartfelt moments. Janet always gives us alpha males who support their strong-willed women without expecting them to change—which is refreshing in this genre. Rachel’s story dealt with an important and distressing issue that many women around the world face. The heroine shows strength as well as a level of vulnerability that suits her character and the situation. Thank you for sharing your words with us and allowing us to escape from reality for a while. I received an ARC for an honest review.

  • Riveting

5 star review of Rich (Benson Security #5) by Janet Elizabeth Henderson Janet Elizabeth Henderson is a new author to me and I have no idea why I have not come across her before. This book reeled me in and I was hooked from the first to the last chapter. A slightly dark, romantic comedy with a touch of suspense that ticked the boxes. Although the book starts off with a confronting scene, it did not set the tone for the book. I will say that the author did a credible job and ensured that it was handled with respect and not sensationalized. Rachel Ford-Talbot is a tough as nails woman who has overcome a terrifying past to become a partner and leader at Benson Security. She is strong, clever and is not afraid to say it like it is. She also has nothing to do with her family or the family business. However when her sick father asks for her help, she is drawn back in to investigate along with ex-CIA agent Michael “Harvard” Carter who has decided that he will be her bodyguard. Harvard is the perfect man for Rachel. He is protective , swoon worthy and most definitely alpha. The chemistry between them burns up the pages with it’s intensity. Ms. Henderson wrote a strongly written story that kept me guessing until the end and I was definitely surprised. It handled difficult subjects whilst also showcasing comedic moments that had me laughing. The secondary characters were just as captivating and has whetted my appetite to go back and read the other books in the series as soon as time permits.

  • It grabs you and holds you.

If you have seen the other reviews then right away you know that once again, Janet has completed another perfect book. How does she keep doing it! It's hard hitting and emotional at times, but what I loved about this book was Rachel's determination not to continue being a victim to something that happened in her past. Having always loved her sass, we are drenched in it in this rollercoaster story that shows us her diverse and at times eccentric family and we get a strong insight into Harvards mind, and understand his attraction to Rachel. Once again a great book, so worth your time.
