A great book and a great series star

I really enjoyed the prequel to this series, Soul Survivor, so I was anticipating that I'd enjoy Seer of Souls. The actual book exceeded what I'd anticipated. The world building done for this series is excellent. The lead and supporting characters very well defined and acting in a way that's totally appropriate to what they're experiencing. The plot is exciting enough but is clearly on a slow build towards whatever the author will be moving towards in the series. After this book 1 I'm sure that whatever that goal is it will be a lot of fun getting there. I highly recommend this book, and I'm definitely looking forward to the others to come in The Spirit Shield Saga.

Good for Fans of Michael Stackpole

I received this story as a free book from the author and will not show up as a verified purchase. Cayden and Avery Tiernan are the last of the legitimate royal family and heirs to the throne, unknown to themselves, they are born and sent away by magic just as their mother is dying from being poisoned. At around the age of 16, Cayden and Avery's powers are starting to manifest, they have people watching them, that are not allowed to interfere as the twins need to learn about their unusual abilities on their own. With the Queen on a quest to stomp out the one's prophesied to depose her, and anyone else who has magical abilities. Her troops come to the town where they grew up, and at the death of a Queens Guard, Cayden leaves in order to save the town. His sister leaves separately and they soon find themselves on quest of their own, unwillingly being drawn into their destiny, using their special gifts, they go from one adventure to the next. Are they able to succeed in coming into their own legacies, or does Alcidia get the last laugh, and retain the throne? Susan Faw wrote a fun YA adventure that is very fast paced, has strong characters, and a solid plot with many twist, and a few laughs that has you rooting for the underdogs the entire journey.

Magic and destiny come together in a great fantasy

I like the realistic fantasy world Author Susan Faw creates in Seer of Souls by setting the age-old scene of good versus evil while weaving in a prophesied destiny, magic, and dark, unearthly beings that give you a serious chill. The struggle plays out through characters we can all relate to, each believable in their reactions, thoughts, and emotions that add another layer to this mythical realm. A great effort for a first in the series! I look forward to reading more from this author!

    King Arthur but more

Too busy reading the last 5 chapters - and so I burnt my lunch. Kept me interested. Good characters and alternate world - (as another review said) a bit King Arthur with wizard but add fairy and other magical creatures.
