    Serpentine

I love the Anita Blake series. I feel though that after so many books the author has begun to place a lot of her personal life and issues into her story line and thus causes the book to lose some of it original flavor and excitement. I am looking forward to seeing a Merry Gentry book come to fruition. Has the author lost momentum is that story line?

    Not the greatest Blake Novel

Spent more time focused on poly group explanation. Not as much sex or magic -which are my favorite.

Serpentine is a masterpiece of writing.

This is another thrilling fast paced mystery story written within the Anita Blake universe. Serpentine is the latest Anita Blake novel written by Laurell K Hamilton. The story was fast paced from the first chapter to the last. I was so immersed in the book that I finished it in one sitting. The alternate reality world-building that has been done in this book is so realistic that the reader can be forgiven their belief that the paranormal creatures in it are actually a part of our society. The police procedures followed by the characters are so precise and vivid that they I actually became fooled into thinking the crime was real. This book is a true blending of a detective mystery plot twisted within a believable alternate reality that is just subtle different from our own. Even though this book is the latest in the Anita Blake series, it stands on it own merits with a spectacular ending that wraps up the story so that there is no cliffhanger. This book is a definitive masterpiece of writing that anyone who enjoys a well written book will enjoy. One caution about the Anita Blake series books is that like the old adages’ about potato chips or cats; You can't just eat or have one! Once you read any of the books in Hamilton's Anita Blake series, you crave to read another. I know I am eagerly awaiting the next one!

    BORING!! 😴😴😴

Yawn!! I can’t believe I spent the exorbitant amount of money and time on this book! I don’t know what Ms. Hamilton is doing but she sure isn’t spending her time in Anita’s world. How many books has it been since Anita agreed to marry Jean Claude? And still no wedding!! I don’t know if I will spend any more time or money on this series anymore. I bought all the paperbacks in this series until I bought my first iPad and then purchased all the books again. I’ve read the whole series from first to last at least 4 times that’s how much I enjoyed this series but I think it’s time for me to finally give up! 😢 I’ll keep an eye out for the book that finally has Anita and Jean Claude getting married but I’m not spending almost $20.00 a book for tired old sex scenes, poor story lines and boring characters. Sorry Ms. Hamilton but you’ve lost a very devoted fan! For the people reading this review, don’t spend the money on this book. It isn’t worth it! 👎👎👎👎👎 🙁

I love the Anita Blake series, but sadly I found this one cookie cutter to the point of boredom and predictability.
