    Sisters of Summer's End

Another great book by this author that will leave you with all the good feelings. Joy has started working at the drive-in after her divorce and she and her young son are getting by and rebuilding their lives. Maris has ran the camp store at Summer's End and she and Joy form a strong and binding relationship like sisters. Now they both have a chance at romance, even if it not what either is looking for. Royce is the owner of the drive-in and perfect for Joy and Jack and when you add in the puppy, who could resist that. Maris, oh, she tries to deny her feelings but Daron is something special. This was a slow starter but once it got going it was hard to put down! Definitely worth a recommendation from me. **Received this ARC for review from the publisher via NetGalley**

    Where everyone is family.

I just love going back to Cooper's Charm where everyone is family. Joy has devoted all her time and attention to her son, Jack. That is until the new drive-in owner shows up. Royce bought the drive-in and is hoping to get his life together - unencumbered. But, when Joy and Jack enter his life, he starts to rethink that plan. Joy and Maris have become close friends, like sisters. So after Maris encourages Joy to go after Royce, Joy encourages Maris to go after the man, Daron, who has been chasing Maris for a long time. It is time for both of them to find their happiness. Can they let go of their past heartaches and look to the future?

    A Must Read

I adored visiting in Summer's End. I loved every moment and scene while I read the story, every character touching my heart in a special way, connecting with each of them on some level. Joy Lee - the ultimate superwoman of a single mom who is doing all she can that her son will never feel the kind of burn from the hurt Joy's parents caused her. Maris Kennedy - the other superwoman, working her knuckles bloody in the tough business of food service to make a life to her self, climbing up from the poverty she experienced as a child, determined to make it, make something of herself, to stay independent, to stay above the waterline. She is resilient, she is successful, she has talent, and she has the guts she needs to make it happen every single day. I loved the friendship developing between Maris and Joy, they had that connection one needs to their soul sister, and even though they seemed so different at the first glance, they are more similar than one would think, with the strength of mind and spirit. Daron - the hard working, always smiling, flirt of the resort, who has more depth and layers than Maris was willing to admit. He turns out to be just a solid good guy, a person Maris, and his friends, could trust, who was not afraid to say how it was, and who adored Maris. And then there is Royce - the new guy in town. The one who seems almost too good to be true, who says he wants to just heal and chill and recuperate after taking care of his mother with dementia for years. I wanted to hug Royce silly, cause I know what a tough, all-consuming lifestyle being a caretaker for a person with dementia is. Royce has kindness, goodness, and sexiness that's palpable, he was so perfect with Jack, Joy's son, and together with Joy, they made the perfect unit, one within two. The different relationships and connections between the friends are tested in the obstacles life throughs at them, with their own issues, pain, and past hurts. The story balances between serious character development, heartbreak, and growth from life lesson to fun banter, sexy flirting, and love scenes that left me all swoony and smiling. The story wasn't only vastly entertaining, it took a look at life from several different angles, and showed how the past and prestige does not matter if people are willing to find the common ground and make a life together. An inspiring and uplifting tale about friends, life, learning to trust, and daring to love. The smoothly flowing, well-written story engaged my emotions, I connected with the characters, and I wanted to be part of the gang at the cafe. I found the book to be unputdownable from the moment I started to read it until the oh, so satisfying 'the end'. This summers 'must read' in my opinion! ~ Five Spoons

    Contemporary Romance

Sisters of Summer’s End by Lori Foster Summer Resort #2 What a delightful way to spend the day! I returned to Cooper’s Charm RV Resort in Ohio and visited with old friends while making a few new ones. I was able to watch two couples find happily ever afters and two women become closer than sisters. I had a smile on my face at various times in the story and have one on my face as I write this review. Joy Lee, recreation director, is a single mother that puts her son Jack first and gives him the type of childhood she did not have. When she meets Royce Nakirk for business to discuss cooperation between the campground and his drive-in theater they are both quite taken with one another. I absolutely loved the way this couple got together and pursued the relationship between them. Royce with Jack was a treat for the two of them and for Joy and also for me. When they found an abandoned injured puppy and added took it home...it added one more wonderful character to the story. Marisa owns Summer’s End store and diner located on Cooper’s Charm. Everyone stops in daily for coffee and her delicious cookies and as the story begins she and Joy begin to become better friends. She encourages Joy to step out of her comfort zone and pursue some fun with Royce but isn’t so sure about doing the same when the tables are turned and Joy suggests she pursue some fun of her own with Daron. Marisa and Daron so deserved to be together and watching it happen was another part of the story that had me smiling once again. Sure, there were some aspects of the book that were heavier…backstories and childhoods and dealing with parents but the strength the characters in the book derived from dealing with those hard times only made this story better. I actually hated having the book end. Why? I would really like to return to Cooper’s Charm for another story BUT didn’t see any characters mentioned that might show up in book three of the series...unless...if I am lucky...there are people that come to visit, vacation or work at the resort in a future book. Thank you to NetGalley, HQN and the author for the ARC – This is my honest review. 5 Stars

    Great Book

Another great read in the Summer Resort Series. This time a round it's Maris and Joy to find love and happiness. Both ladies are fighting the battle of I'm independent and don't need any man's help. They will learn it's not that the man takes over, it's that he is a partner. Jack is such a wonderful 5 year old little boy. Again Lori makes you fall in love with everyone at Cooper's Charm. This book will make you laugh, shed some tears, steam of the pages and just give you the biggest feels. *I received a free copy of this book via the NetGalley/Author and am voluntarily leaving a review.*
