    Enjoyable cozy mystery

Enjoyable cozy mystery! There’s a lot going on in this book! I love Verity as a main character. I’ve read several of the books previous in this series. The books can be standalone but the author is very good about explaining things in each book so you are not lost if you have not read any previous books. I thought this book was fairly fast paced with several plots and enjoyable characters. I like that Verity is starting her own PI business during a boring winter off from her landscaping business. She definitely is not bored this winter! There’s a crossword puzzle scandal, murder, a dog, a best friend and a relationship with her boyfriend that seems to be moving to the next level. I went along for the wild ride and was a bit surprised at how things ended but immensely pleased with the story overall!

    Snowed under.

Great story, very hard to put down but not so hard to read that one has to go back time and time again to maintain the storyline.

    Fun Winter Cozy

This is the 5th in the Leafy Hollow series. I'm really liking how Verity's detective skills are improving. She uses her head, watches people for tells, and tries to figure out plausible covers for her investigating. I love the little details that make these books fun. I wish there had been a little more Emy/Lorne/Verity sleuthing in this one. I always enjoy it when they investigate together. Also, though I understood that Verity's boyfriend was looking out for her, I felt like he undermined her confidence a little too much in the process. Kept me from liking him as much as I wanted to. There was something of a cliffhanger, but it's just the start to the next one. No spoilers, but I am looking forward to where things go. I really hope we get to see a little more of Verity's aunt soon. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

    Great Cozy Mystery

Once again, Verity is involved in figuring out the mysteries of Leafy Hollow. The town is preparing for a winter storm (a once in a century storm) when the first murder happens. As usual Jeff (police) warns Verity off from getting involved but Verity has new things to focus on. The start up of her own PI business, or so her friend Emy hopes. But, as Verity investigates the small things, like a mysterious crossword puzzle with the clues being left around the town (so much fun!) she can't help but run into clues about the more serious things going on in town. The mystery is good, the characters charming and funny and the story captivating. I loved it!
