  • Mayhem at Mainland Public Transit

The Blade Man is the latest Casey Holland mystery. It’s the sixth book in Debra Purdy Kong’s series, and the third Casey Holland book I’ve read. Like the others in the series, The Blade Man is set in BC’s Lower Mainland. Once again I was drawn to the Casey Holland character, who displays a realistic mix of bravery and compassion as she unravels the mystery behind a series of attacks on her employer, Mainland public Transit. In this installment, everyone at Casey’s workplace and in her personal circle is in danger because no one knows where or when the next attack will occur. Complicating matters is Summer, the troubled teenager Casey has taken guardianship of. At each turn of the investigation, Casey’s world gets more dangerous, the stakes keep rising, and tension builds. If you enjoy a mystery with twists and turns, and nuanced, believable characters, you’ll enjoy The Blade Man.
