  • 4.25⭐ A fun, quirky, and fresh read.

This was such a fun, quirky, entertaining, easy, and fresh read. That was not only packed full of wonderfully charming characters, but animals that had so much personality that I couldn't help but smile every time one was mentioned from Barack O'llama, to Capone and not forgetting Cluck Norris. They all helped to make this story a joy to read. As did the romance between Jay and Alyson which was equal parts sweet and steamy. And honestly, I was completely captivated throughout, and I genuinely hope Ms Fox writes more about these delightful Nova Scotian farmers and their friends in the future. Would happily recommend. **I was kindly provided with an ARC via Entangled Publishing in exchange for an honest review**

  • Fun with depth!

Alyson and Jay were a lot of fun right from the start! This smart, sexy and witty rom com had me buzzing with excitement from the first rooster crow. The chemistry between Alyson and Jay palpitates off the pages and you can’t help but be drawn in by it. When they finally give in, wowza, the heat is off the charts. But these two also connect on an emotional level and let go some old hurts once they learn to trust again. All of this tied up with a small town in rural Nova Scotia, and the hijinks that go with small towns, and meddling family, and animals, made this maritimer a very happy reader <3

  • Hilarious and Steamy!

From the moment I picked it up to the time I finished, The Burbs and the Bees had me captivated! Laughing at the antics of a "watchdog" rooster, a foul-mouthed parrot and brothers that had way too much time on their hands, I was fascinated by the scenes Cathryn Fox created. The steamy, off the charts attraction Alyson and Jay had for each other from the moment they met kept me captivated. If you're looking for a great rom-com filled with love of family and support through difficult times, The Burbs and the Bees is the perfect remedy. Thank you Entangled Publishing and NetGalley for providing an arc of this hilarious book. My review is unbiased and completely my own!

  • Funny, steamy and wonderfully written

I loved this fun and quirky city gal/farmer boy romance from one of my go-to authors! Alyson and Jay were complete opposites in almost every way at the start of their wet and wild introduction, but deep dow, they’re more alike then they think. I adored Alyson’s plucky, can-do...or at least, try to do...attitude, which she needs in spades when she lays her eyes on her inheritance. The girl doesn’t stick with much, and now she’s learning to milk cows and run a farmstand. Jay is a hardworking, gorgeous, small town guy, but he’s much more than just a farmer. He’s a great big brother, a loyal friend and embraces sustainable living. The burn was slow but when it finally ignited, it was super-nova hot. Alyson begins to fit into all areas of Jay’s life, his family included, but can they overcome both their differences as well as a secret or two. Add in a bit of suspense and I couldn’t put this book down! Taking place in Nova Scotia, a place I’ve long wanted to visit, the setting adds another layer to this rich, engaging story. Cathryn Fox definitely penned another winner with The Burbs and the Bees...appropriately titled, as well!

  • Laugh out loud Funny

Laugh out loud funny! Socialite vs. Country! Alyson is a quirky girl trying to figure out life. Her dad expects performance and perfection. He is giving her thirty days or she is saying bye bye to a load of money. She knows she can handle this situation because why else would her Uncle choose her to leave this place! Jay is a reformed player and partier, but he is not going to ever let his family down! He is the man of the house and he takes that seriously now! He believes Alyson is just a player and he can’t wait to see her leave or can he? The author does such a remarkable job of intertwining a few tweaks that you don’t expect and then when they pop up you are like What just happened! I would recommend this book to my friends. I received an advanced copy from NetGalley and these are my willingly given thoughts and opinions.
