    Louise Penny never disappoints

Three Pines is celebrating spring, when a psychic conducts a séance in the old Hadley house and one of the residents dies, with a look of terror on her face. Inspector Ganache must solve the case, while dealing with harassment and subterfuge from a surprising source. All Penny's stories have intriguing plots with lots of detail, but her major strength is her ability to breathe life into her remarkable characters. Reading each book is like visiting well-loved friends.

    Totally Loved It!

What a riveting read. I have read others in the series but this one kept me spellbound. Absolutely loved it.

    Slow and Uninteresting

I started reading Ms. Penny on a recommendation from Anne Rice, who called her a "fine writer" on her Facebook page. The first two books in the Gamache series were quite good and I was ready for more, but The Cruellest month disappointed. I found it slow to start and the story was uninteresting. It picked up a bit towards the end, but now I'm hesitant to buy The Murder Stone, the next book in the series.
