    Monumental

Reviews are hard. I am speechless. I have the sense of a river of thought, that I could barely keep my head about me. I worried constantly where we were going but couldn’t stop, didn’t want to. Glad I didn’t.

    Wonderfully smart and clever

I had never read Rusdie and wondered what all the fuss was about. Now I know. His writing is exquisite- like Swiss chocolate melting in my mouth. So wonderfully smart and clever.

    Brilliant comment on our times

It took me awhile to "get in to" this book and I am glad I persisted. Interwoven with the film maker-narrator's fascination with the Golden family is commentary on our own times, political, social, popular. The breadth of Rushdie's knowledge is remarkable. He delves into matters and crystallizes the essence of what is happening in the world today

    Captivating

Full of wit, humour and deep irony, his is Rushdie at his finest. The characters are all beautifully flawed d a
