Entertaining exploration of what makes us human

Beware of the "Started good, ended poorly" review below. It is a MAJOR spoiler. And the reviewer apparently missed the boat. Although things do bog down a little while in the third book, I heartily recommend reading it. Just the characterization of twenty-three year olds who seem to be a cross between early adolescents and 6-year-olds makes the first book a real delight. And then things start getting interesting! Some of the antagonists seem "flat" but that can be forgiven as a kind of mental illness brought on by the society and situation. All in all, I was tempted to give the book only 4 stars, but "I liked it" is a bit of an understatement.

    Started good, ended poorly

First book very promissing. Second book got a little confusing between reality, VR and AI. Third book has no real action, all VR without any reality and no answer to the question: were they the last humans or a full VR dream, from start to finish?

Enjoyed it from beginning to end

As the title says I enjoyed the whole book trilogy and the end while a bit wishful gave me the feeling of classic SF

    Last Humans

An intricate well imagined world, populated with exciting complex characters. Twists in the plot lead to a supriseing ending.
