    MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN

Fleming's last 007 novel. It held my interest, but is a rather narrow canvas for Bond. Jamaica - again - but a lot less overtly racist than Dr. No. Even Fleming/Bond must mature. The villain is rather low-rent, as he is ostensibly trying to parlay his involvement in a stalled resort (lots of Mafiosi involved). His claim to infamy is his prowess with his golden gun (NOT a euphemism for a gold member!); he's an assassin for hire almost as well known for having three nipples. I've said enough. Aside from the title and the villain's name, there is nary an analogue to the film from 1975.
