    Mixed

The story of the the authors upbringing was fascinating and the changes she describes taking place in the Arctic are both informative and chilling (no oxymoronic pun intended). I however, got bogged down in the excessive details of who did what when at all the various levels of government- way to much detail- which caused me to almost abandon the book. I coped by skim reading those bits as the story underneath all the bureaucratic details is compelling and worth learning about.

    Hard but necessary

A compelling memoir, at times, a bit of a tough slog through information and descriptions of various organization but profoundly moving overall.
