Formulaic, boring rom-com with terrible characters

This novel had all the charm of a bad rom-com (which is to say, none at all): a formulaic plot which paired, a handsome yet socially clueless man against a beautiful manic pixie dream girl who somehow likes him despite red-flag behaviour and no commonalities; daddy issues that involve an international wild-goose chase; womanizing men with no consequences; terrible boundaries; I could go on. Basically this is a nightmare of a relationship. One of the aspects I hated most was Don and his woman-rating scale, which objectified women in order to find a suitable mate. I felt like this book did a bad job of portraying people with autism-spectrum disorders and women, especially. Both groups are the butt of most of Simsion's jokes, and Rosie is poorly developed in a book where women are treated entirely as objects, seemingly without second thought. Do not recommend.

    The Rosie Project

Loved the characters and the storyline right from the first paragraph. Nice combination of humour and serious subject matter. The author does not ramble on unnecessarily but rather he stays on topic. Can't wait to read the next book in ths series.

    Brilliant and witty!

Excellent. Excellent. Excellent. It was witty and intelligent. Characters were super funny. Pretty predictable but still enjoyable. Would read it again over and over. Super excited for the movie!!!!!!

Great book... but the end blows.

I gave this book four stars because I thought it was well written and well thought out, but the end was more than and little rushed and overall sloppy. That is really disappointing as the rest of the book was funny and heart-warming.

    Couldn't put it down

What a great read. I could start and read it again. Grabbed my interest at the start and kept it peaked through to the last page. For sure it will be a classic.
