    adventure, romance, danger, suspense, confusion...

Aoife MacNeill has been involuntarily betrothed to the eldest son of The Hawk, Nigel Armstrong, a man who, upon meeting him, she realizes she will never love. Attracted instead to his poverty stricken cousin, Ross of Kinfairlie, she decides to simultaneously test Nigel’s mettle and have one last adventure before she becomes (in her view) Nigel’s chattel. To say the least, it does not go well. She gets kidnapped by The Hawk’s enemy and puts herself and Ross in mortal danger due to her recklessness. Of course there is a delightful HEA, when everything works out, but along the way is adventure, romance, danger, suspense, confusion and a delightful journey. This wonderful story is thoroughly enjoyable and a great addition to Ms. Delacroix’s Inverfyre and Kinfairlie worlds. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
