    The Stone Carvers

I was at first having a hard time getting into this book but before I knew it I couldn't put it down. It was one of the best books I've read in a while... recommended for male or female..

    Could not put it down

One of the best reads I’ve had in a while. A moving story set in Canadian history. I’ve already recommended the book to my reader friends.

    An excellent choice.

I enjoyed this story very much. The Ontario locations were interesting for me as I lived many years in the locations described. Going from one character's story to another made it a book that one wanted to keep reading. A well-written book with wonderful characters.

    The Stone Carvers

It's a great time to read The Stone Carvers, with Vimy so much in the news. Jane Urquhart's prose is beautifully descriptive although she keeps her story moving, always layered with her characters' engaging personalities. These are people you'd like to know, above all, even with their foibles and struggles. The story spans several generations and decades so that historical events are interlaced with her characters' reactions to them. A great read!
