    Fun Read

Another series I started at book 4, this one was clearly jumping into an existing series. It pretty much told you that there had been other books by the references regarding Kate's tendency to find dead bodies and the less than fabulous relationship she has with law enforcement. I have to say that I LOVE that the majority of the characters were 40 or above. I learned about a dice game I know people who have played but I have not. I thought that there were fun ways introduced to explain how Kate stumbled over the things that she did, including the dead body she finds at the beginning. I DID guess who did it and why long before it was revealed but I was so caught up in the interactions that I never got bored. All in all, I found it a nice read. I definitely recommend it. Thank you to Gail Oust, Beyond the Page Publishing, and NetGalley for allowing me the chance to read this book and share my honest thoughts and opinions

    Fun Christmas Cozy Mystery

It’s Christmas time in Serenity Cove, South Carolina. Kate and the rest of the Bunco Babes are preparing for their Christmas activities when they find a skeleton in the basement of one of their friends. The skeleton turns out to be the missing husband of their friend whom the house belonged to. Can the Bunco Babes solve this 25-year-old mystery? This is the first book I have read by Gail Oust but won’t be my last. Even though I have not read the other books in the series I was able to enjoy this book as a stand-alone. The characters are unique and fun. The mystery is well paced with several twists and turns along the way. A bonus for the food lovers there are recipes included in the book. I voluntarily agreed to read a copy of this book supplied by Netgalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own and in no way have been influenced.

    A cozy for all ages

Being a Southern gal, I love a good Southern cozy and the Bunco Babes make for a fun read. The mix of ages in the group makes this a good read for all ages, but particularly for mature readers because the main character is a widowed empty nester and living life to the fullest! When the Meemaw of the youngest Bunco Babe offers her house for the annual Christmas house tour, her grand daughter is worried since the Meemaw seems to be losing her faculties and the house is not quite up to par. But the Bunco Babes rally around her and agree to help get the house ready in time for the tours. Only thing is Kate finds a skeleton in the basement while looking for the old family ornaments. This not only puts a crimp in the time schedule to get the house ready, but also could have Meemaw sent up the river for the murder of her husband who has been missing for 25 years. The Bunco Babe ladies were endearing and I enjoyed the writing. Though I had pegged the murderer and reason right out of the gate. Still, it's a series I will read the first three books in and look forward to future entries.

    A nice cozy murder mystery!

A nice cozy murder mystery! In this story, the Dice Club members unite to help decorate the house of an old lady who will be moving to a care facility. This seems like a good idea, and shows the Christmas spirit of helping one-another. Looking for decorations, our main character finds a gruesome discovery, that will lead to a murder investigation.
