This well crafted story is well worth reading!

The Watchman's Grace will be of great interest to those who enjoy historical fiction. The story brings to life the complicated moral issues surrounding the slave trade in North America and the struggle to emancipate Ireland from English rule. Mr. Johnson weaves historical knowledge with his passion for the subject over an ambitious 200 year time scale. This story is a monumental achievement for a new author.

    A moving historical ride

Mr Johnson creates a fascinating cross section of bold characters enveloped in some of the 18 and 19th century’s most tempestuous periods. You are carried along on a historical and moving tale from the slave trade of east Africa and the American south, up into Nova Scotia, and onto Ireland and its fight for independence. I enjoyed the very eye opening convergence of these historical events that is rarely attempted and a treat for the history buffs among us all.
