  • amazing sequel

It's always been about you. Everything I do is about you. For you. What would you do to protect the person you love? An amazing sequel to Two Princes, this is probably the best book I've read from this author. It's an incredible coming-of-age story, engaging and well-written. Billy is thriving in his new environment, with Rene's parents having been named permanent foster parents. The General and Mrs. O have more rules and regulations than the Army, but Billy is doing his best to keep up with their expectations. One of the things I like best about Mr. & Mrs. O is that they have valid reasons for their rules, which they explain clearly to Billy, with everyone required to follow the same guidelines. At times, Billy is jealous of Rene's privileges, but he understands the why. Rene is having a very hard time with their budding romance, and with his own acceptance of himself as gay. Billy is bi, so he can appear to be "normal" and fit it with the crowd at school. Rene gives up the one thing so precious to himself, going against everything he is, to try to protect Billy from his criminal family. Uncle Ned makes several appearances, having become Billy's confidante, still inspiring him to follow in their native ways. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
