    Thanks for your feedback!

Very exciting start to a new series!

WARLORD SKY is book one in Cynthia Sax’s Chamele Barbarian Warlord series, a spin-off of The Refuge series. I was eagerly awaiting this story, it exceeded all my expectations. WARLORD SKY takes place on Chamele 2, and Qulpa, a Chamele warrior, is flying home. It should have been an eventless flight, but their ship was unexpectedly attacked, and crashed on the home planet. Qulpa’s family and close friends all died in the Succession Wars, he has one thing left: being a pilot. But he is injured in the attack, and might not be able to fly ever again. There is but a shadow of hope when Nayan – the revered Head of Ship and Weapons Design – who has been summoned to investigate the crash – suggests that she might be able to help him. It is sheer torture for Qulpa to be near Nayan, because she is his gerel – his one and only genetically compatible life mate – and she refuses to admit it. Oh my goodness, this is such an exciting new world! While reading, I almost felt like jumping up and down, because it’s just that exhilarating and clever, and so much fun! Nayan’s fabulous “team” of bots and drones is genius! Nayan lives in her laboratory because she has a secret; she keeps away from other beings. But Qulpa is utterly smitten, and he is a wonderful hero; I just loved him to bits! He’s a big, tough guy, but so caring and gentle; he made my heart melt. And Nayan is not a helpless little female; she is the best at what she does, and respected; she is a heroine I can relate to. The chemistry between Nayan and Qulpa is electric, explosive, and yet there is so much tenderness – and scorching moments! Cynthia Sax knows how to write a real alpha male; her heroes are never selfish jerks, and Qulpa might be my favourite ever. WARLORD SKY is a terrific story, sad and joyful, very romantic, and one particular moment had me laughing out loud. And who was that mysterious man ... What a fabulous series this is going to be!
