  • Intense thriller!

When I read a domestic thriller, I always think of a saying my mom used "Love's blind, but the neighbors ain't". Lol! "Watch Out for Her" by Samantha M. Bailey, is quite the intriguing roller coaster ride that had me stumped till the end. I was immediately invested in the characters and was rapidly flipping the pages to see what was going to happen next. I did not want to put the book down, but THAT is when you know it's a great read. Was it perfect? Sadly no, I felt let down by the ending, but overall I still enjoyed the book. I am giving it a 4-star rating. Jacob Goldman is a 6-year-old, fun-loving little boy. His mom Sarah Goldman, hired a babysitter named Holly Monroe. Jacob loves Holly and Sarah now has time to focus on her photography business. Sarah is a bit of a helicopter mom and notices Holly engaged in some very upsetting activity on the nanny camera. Is Holly hiding secrets? Can she be trusted? Thank you NetGally and, Simon & Schuster Canada, for the honor of reviewing this very suspenseful e-book. It is a exciting adventure. Samantha M. Bailey you rock!

  • Fast paced read

Watch Out for Her grabs your attention from the beginning and keeps you guessing. Someone is always watching Sarah mom to Jacob. I see you. This summer Sarah and Dan hire Holly to babysit their 6 year old Jacob. Can Sarah trust Holly. This book has it all: secrets, lies, obsession and some nasty characters. I don't want to give anything way: suffice to say pick up your copy of Watch out For Her and be prepared to read to you are done. Samantha Bailey has another hit on her hands.

  • Intense

I started this with the thought that I would read a few pages and then set it aside until I had more time. I never expected this book to hook me from the beginning making it impossible for me to set it aside. While this is written from Sarah’s and Holly’s point of view, it also jumps from present day to the past. These jumps are clearly defined and do not cause any confusion. They did, however, cause me to become anxious for the two timelines to meet. I needed to know what had happened in the past. Where did these women currently stand and how was this all going to end? This has some twists and turns, one I sort of suspected but was nonetheless thrilled with when it was revealed. For me, this was all about the tension that was present throughout the story. One character is super paranoid, which made me paranoid as well, while the other had a thread of darkness that surfaced off and on. The ending was nothing as I expected, giving me a huge twist! With an epilogue that wrapped everything up that might have still been in question, I finished this ready for more by this author.

  • Great read!

Wow, I did not see that ending coming! This is one of my favorite reads so far this year. It is told in a nonlinear timeline from two points of view, helicopter mom, Sarah, who is very annoying at times and their 22-year-old babysitter, Holly. Sarah and her husband Daniel, along with 6-year-old son Jacob suddenly leave their Vancouver home and move to Toronto to get away from Holly. This is such a suspenseful, captivating domestic thriller you will not bet able to put down. Thank you NetGalley and Simon & Schuster for the ARC of this page-turner that kept me reading way past my bedtime.

  • I enjoyed it

This is not my usual go to genre but I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this book. It pulled me in from the get go and kept me guessing. I loved the fact it was set in Vancouver and Toronto. Interesting characters and premise. I highly recommend this book. I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.
