    A fast paced psychological thriller

Morgan Kincaid's life is in shambles after her husband's suicide following the revelation that he stole money from investors. Then one day, while waiting for a commuter train, a woman she does not know, later identified as Nicole Markham, thrusts her baby Quinn into Morgan's arms and falls onto the tracks in front of an incoming train. Why did Nicole entrust her daughter to Morgan? An investigation begins, and Morgan becomes a suspect when police have doubts that Nicole's death was a suicide. Desperate to find the truth and to clear her name, Morgan begins to investigate and becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue and deceit. An excellent read!

    Boring

Author said it took her 6 years to write this. Sorry, plot same as so many other psychological thrillers I have read. Knew the "baddie" instantly. Read first couple of chapters, skimmed the rest to the end, and read last chapter. Very very disappointed.

excellent ending fast paced never lets up

Morgan's already had a lifetime of tragedy and infamy thanks to her husband, Ryan Galloway. He committed suicide after defrauding investors of their life savings, including her family and friends, and has left her to face the consequences. As a social worker at Haven House, Morgan works with women in distress. A homeless woman tosses a baby into Morgan's arms at the subway station and then falls into the path of a train, As the truth comes out about the mother and child, Morgan becomes the prime suspect in what is being described as a murder instead of a suicide. Morgan feels compelled to investigate to clear her name. The investigation is intense and finding a connection them is something the police are unable to find. The dead woman's life is the source of so much of the drama and the unraveling of the new mother. An excellent ending and the pace never let up the entire book. A touch of romance helps lift the depressing story of one woman's life by the joy in the others. I volunteered to read an ARC from Simon & Schuster through Net Galley.
