    Sunshine and Margot

This was a fun and sometimes funky story with sisters who appear to be total opposites but when you get right to the heart of it they are just looking for what we all are, someone to love and to be loved at the end. Margot is an etiquette specialist and her latest conquest is an aging movie star who is engaged to a diplomat but with her impulsive ways she needs some help to learn how to act. Oh, Margot soon wonders if she has met her match, especially when they land at the star's son's home and he is NOT like his mother. This was fun to watch develop :) Then we have Sunshine who has always been impulsive and now has sworn off men and decided to finish college but with her new job as a nanny of the young son of a newly widowed man she soon finds herself the center of his attentions. The best part of this book was the interaction between Margot and Sunshine! Sisters who have always had to rely on each other after their mother abandoned them and then were abandoned by their grandmother. They challenge each other and support each other. So, so good. Definitely a great summer read! **Received this book for review**

    Great book

This beautiful story of two very different sisters hooked me from page one. Sunshine and Margot were very engaging characters were honestly trying to break out of old and destructive habits. Sunshine wants to be more than her physical appearance, while Margot has resigned herself to her job being her focus. While I was intrigued by Margot and her job as an etiquette coach, Sunshine is the sister I enjoyed the most. Bianca’s storyline was a bit of a disappointment at the conclusion; I think I was expecting a reason for the was she behaved. Connor was a delight and his father Declan was very yummy. I’m still processing how I feel about Alec, though. I finished this book within a few hours of starting it, so it definitely held my attention. This book was more women’s fiction than straight contemporary romance, which is my go-to genre of choice. Other than one particular sex scene, which I felt took me away from the relationship between the two characters, this was a solid read, enjoyable read.

    Great beach read

These sisters are very different and I love how we feel that in their stories.  Sunshine's is bigger, louder, and messier but she is oh-so-appealing for it.  Your heart just goes out to her as she struggles to be the person she wants to be and not who she used to be.  Declan and Connor are a perfect match for her - if only they'd met under different circumstances.  Unfortunately they didn't so there's going to be some struggles and a lot of bumps along the way.     Margot is more formal & reserved and her story matches, except for Bianca.  Matching these two brings out some wonderful comedic moments and I only wish we'd had even more of Bianca's oddly compelling presence.  Unfortunately some of her more risque choices over the years haven't gone over as well, especially with Alec.  It helps explain a lot of why he's the way he is, and why Margot is a good match for him.  If you are looking for a fun read to throw in your bag for a trip to the beach or the pool, this is definitely it.  The Summer of Sunshine and Margot follows the sisters as they fall in love and we effortlessly flow between the two & the people in their lives.  It never felt disjointed (as multi-characters books can) as we get to know everyone and watch as their connections deepen. **Review given honestly and freely after receipt of a reader copy. This opinion is completely my own and was not influenced in any way.**

The Baxter sisters are so much fun.

The Baxter sisters are so much fun. They have both decided that they need to be different from the previous generations of Baxter women. They both want to find their HEA. They may be twins, but their are so different. Sunshine is a nanny and she has found that she loves the little boy she is watching now. Margot is going to coach an aging movie star before she marries a diplomat. She is known for her surprising antics. As they are trying to change their lives, they are finding love in surprising places and finding themselves.

    Contemporary Romance

The Summer of Sunshine & Margot by Susan Mallery There are three couples that find happily ever afters in this story. One is an older beautiful actress with a backstory that causes her to act in ways she fears may not work in the life of the diplomat she loves and plans to marry. She is gorgeous, a bit outrageous and generous. Bianca feels she needs help to fit in and hires Morgot Baxter to coach her. The other two women are fraternal twins that also have backstories that impact their ability to be in a relationship that is lasting and good for them. Margot and her sister Sunshine were interesting to read about. Margot is the serene organized sleek sister who helps others in a more sophisticated way while Sunshine seems more outgoing casual and outgoing with a big heart that seems to click well with the children she is nanny for. All three women will become more aware of themselves and also of what they want in life and in so doing will find a way to their HEA with men who well suit them. The men...well...there is Wesley the diplomat who sees Bianca and loves every aspect of her – irreverent or not. He SEES her and loves her as she is. Alec, Bianca’s son, is a reserved controlled scholar who likes routine and order in his life – until he makes some realizations that move him in a new direction. Declan Dubois: widow, parent of 8 year old Connor and landscape architect is dealing with more than the loss of his wife as he comes to terms with what he wants and needs in his future. Once he figures out what that is it will make his life so much better. What I liked: * The writing was well done as was the plotting of the story * The love the sisters had for one another * The feelings explored by the characters and the insights they gained * The happy endings for the three couples * That were hints and tips to those who might find themselves in similar situations – they might benefit from what the characters learned What I didn’t like/questioned: * I found it difficult to believe that Sunshine would be objectified/treated as she was all the time by random men...have never seen this in real life. * The way the math TA was presented...would a TA really behave like that and be allowed to continue behaving like that within a university setting? * I felt that story could have been pared down to make it tighter and a bit less wordy. Did I enjoy this book? Yes Would I read more books by this author? Yes Thank you to NetGalley and Harlequin-Mira for the ARC – This is my honest review. 4-5 Stars
