    Great!

Wow! What else is there to say? "This Courageous Journey" reminded me why I LOVE Ms. Beller's books! A fight for survival that keeps you turning the pages as fast as snowflakes in a blizzard and romance as worm as a cozy fire. It's funny and heartwarming, with characters as deep as a frozen lake and adventure as big as the Canadian Rockies! This book is everything you want all rolled into a beautiful 278 pages of reader's delight! (Seriously, just reading this series has sparked a yearning within me to see these glorious mountains for myself!) This is one of my favorites by this author for sure! So stop by your local bookstore, grab a copy, get back home, curl into your favorite chair (not forgetting your steaming cup of cocoa to warm you along this frigid journey!), and dive in! I promise you won't be disappointed! One of the BEST books you'll read all year!

    Great Historical Mountain Wilderness Romance

Another book in the Mountain Men series. Misty Beller will capture your attention in the first pages and will keep you turning the page. Her books take place in the early 1800's in the mountains of Canada. She brings in the hardships they suffered, the freezing cold (you will almost shiver with the characters), even the scent of unwashed bodies. All your senses will be touched. The heroes and heroines are strong, independent and stubborn. They won't give up. Noelle is traveling with another couple to her brother's. City girl going into the wilderness. Daniel is the guide. Remember, wild animals, Indians (good or bad-read to see), frozen water, blizzards, scarcity of food and of course, romance. A good clean Christian historical book that will keep you reading. I received this book as an ARC from the author and all opinions are my own. I've read all the books in this series and thoroughly enjoyed each of them. You also get to meet a few of the characters from earlier books. Each can be read as a stand alone. Misty M. Beller is a terrific author, does her research and makes the characters come alive. Highly recommend her and her books.

    Incredible adventure

I can always count on this author to take me on an adventure in the wilderness! The harsh circumstances bring out the true qualities of the characters, and it's rewarding when they learn that they are stronger than they ever imagined. Noelle is a woman of determination, and she takes it in stride when the plans for her journey go awry. I appreciated that she took the time to pray and feel guidance from the Lord for her decision to keep going and trust Daniel. This is when the story really picks up, and the seemingly never-ending series of dangerous obstacles facing them draws them closer together where they must rely on each other for survival against the looming winter storms as they struggle through the mountains toward their destination. Even though this is a series and the characters in each book are loosely connected, they can be read as stand-alones. (I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)

    Westward Ho!

She's a journalist--or wants to be--and he's a part mestis who is acting as a guide to her party traveling to the Canadian territories through the northwest wilderness. Inflicted with many of the travails suffered by pioneers going west, the party eventually splits up; however, the illness that forced a delay has now put the remaining travelers in winter's path. Unless you are an avid outdoorsman you will learn a great deal about wilderness survival as well as some hint of the history and hardships of many of our ancestors. I had the pleasure of listening to Leonor Woodworth's narration, adding extra layers of enjoyment to the story.
