    Loved it

A Season of You is the second book in the Cloud Bay series and it's a great one. Mina's character peaked my interest in Need You Now and I was so excited to see that this was her story. I was not disappointed!! Will Fraser, local pub and distillery owner, has always had a thing for Mina. When he first met her she was married. Then her husband died but she needed time. Now five years after first seeing Mina is his chance and he'll do whatever it takes to win her heart! I'm loving this series. No worries though if you haven't read book 1, this one can be read standalone. I highly recommend it.

    4 Stars!

Having read and enjoyed the first book in this series (Need You Now,) I was intrigued by Mina's backstory and the setup of her romance with Will Fraser in this book. With knowledge of both MC's from the previous book, I already loved Will Fraser and rooted for his HEA. With widowed Mina's broken heart, he had much to overcome and fight for. Emma Douglas presented a lovely story with fun banter, sexy romance, and a very sweet ending. I have every intention of continuing in the series and reading about their brother Zach in the next book. (This is my voluntary and honest review of an advanced copy of A Season of You via the publisher and Netgalley.)

    Loved it

'A Season of You' by Emma Douglas is Book Two in the Cloud Bay" series. This is the story of Will and Mina. I have read the previous book but feel this is easily a standalone book. When will first spotted Mina he instantly fell in love with her. But she was already married so he just worshiped her from afar. Then she became a widow after her husband was involved in a drunk driving accident. So Will still feels that Mina would not be open to his feelings. When Mina gets hurt, Will is there to help her which opens Will up to the chance for Mina to get to know him. This was another sweet romance that you won't want to put down! Loved it! "My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read."

Great first experience with Ms. Douglas!

Full review appeared on Reader's Edyn on 10/22/17 Mina Harper has lived through her share of loss – first her husband, then her father. While she has a pretty cushy life as the daughter of a famous rock star, it hasn’t shielded her from grief. When a freak accident lands her in Will Fraser’s arms and care, she feels an attraction that she thought long gone. She had her one true love and lost him. People didn’t get second chances at that. Disregarding the attraction as basic, human need, she starts to entertain Will’s idea involving a little Christmas play time together. Time limit, clean break, no strings, hot sex. When people say they can walk away without a backward glance, they are usually full of shit. But Will says he can and so Mina will also. Pair the fact that she doesn’t approve of his career/business and walking away won’t be so hard. She can’t risk huge loss in her life again anyway, so it is just as well she has no intention of falling in love with him. Will Fraser has been in love with Mina since the day he first laid eyes on her. She was the most beautiful, breathtaking thing he had ever seen, but she was taken and then her husband died and Will knew she needed space. Their paths hardly crossed anyway, so he never really had an opportunity – until she got a flat tire outside his bar. Now he’s got the opportunity he’s always wanted. He knows she isn’t ready for anything serious, so an offer of calm and casual is his plan of attack. If she agrees to his terms, he has a month to convince her of his love and that second chances at love are possible. This was a fun and entertaining book to read. I truly enjoyed getting to know these characters and their crazy, quirky world. I imagine life with a rock start father would have quite a lot of interesting aspects and Ms. Douglas did a wonderful job of building this world. I haven’t read this author before, but I have a feeling that the other characters either have or will have their own stories in Cloud Bay. If not, I truly hope that they will. Set just before and up until Christmas, this book is a great way to ring in the holiday season and bring on the “Christmasy warm fuzzies”. I’d enjoy reading it at any time of year though. This book is full of hot, steamy sex scenes and a cast you are sure to adore getting to know. If you find stories of second chances at love, a reluctant female lead, a smitten male lead, and a whole slew of likeable friends and family members, you will not be disappointed. There was also some hint of a touch of mystery surrounding “Daddy Rock Star” and many mysterious pieces of his life that no one knew about. I’m interested in his odd behaviors and what the kids will uncover as time goes on as well. This may have been my first book by Ms. Douglas, but it for sure will not be my last. Cloud Bay

This story takes place during the Christmas holiday season but it didn't read like a Christmas Romance to me. It just doesn't have that heartwarming fun Christmasy vibe. The story itself is well-written for the most part but I felt parts dragged a little. The characters were well-developed and the dialogue was well done though. Mina has suffered much loss in her young life and I understood her reluctance around Will. I never quite warmed up to Mina but I did to Will. It was quite a struggle for them but they finally got their happily ever after which made this story more enjoyable for me. So this is a different kind of Christmas Romance but I am glad I got to read Mina's and Will's story. I voluntarily read an ARC provided by the publisher through Netgalley for an honest review.
