Truth Be Told by Hank Phillippi Ryan

This is the first book that I’ve read in this series and have found that I didn’t really need to have read the previous instalments to read this one. However, it was still the very first book that I have read of Hank Phillippi Ryan. This book begins with a family being evicted from their foreclosed home and you have Jane Ryland as the reporter for a new online news outlet reporting on it. I enjoyed the first part of the book however, during the middle of the book it started to go downhill and I was very glad when I finished it. The scene changes throughout the book really drove me a little crazy while reading it. There was too many changes and it made it more difficult to read.

    Another Great Book

Jane is on the scene of a foreclosure when a dead body is found in a bedroom closet. Since the house was supposed to be empty, who is the victim and how did she get there? Meanwhile, a man has confessed to a famous unsolved murder from 20 years ago, but detective Jake is certain the man is lying. Is he really the killer? Why would he confess to a crime he didn’t commit? The multiple view point approach, which usually works so well, falls flat at the beginning of the book when those breaks keep jerking us around and keep us from getting into the story. Once the story takes off, things really smooth out and I had a hard time putting the book down. The characters, as always, are great.
